In the last of my six part series – Free Affiliate Tools – we will cover free affiliate reports and guides. Whilst there is a huge amount of free information available to the budding affiliate marketer on web sites, blogs and forums you can also often get free reports and “how to” guides from some of the world’s most successful marketing gurus just by signing up to their news letter.
Use a webmail account like Google Mail if you don’t want to give out your primary e-mail address, but you can certainly learn an awful lot about marketing from the news letters and offers that you will inevitably receive from these guys. Take a close look at both the products and marketing techniques they use, nobody is forcing you to buy anything, and you can always unsubscribe when you want to, so you are in a win-win situation.
Some personal favourites that I have signed up for are listed below:
- Pot Pie Girl’s – Squidoo Lens Creation for Newbies This free guide tells you all you need to know to create great Squidoo lenses which can generate their own income and also provide valuable backlinks to your other web projects.
- Chris Rempel’s – Confessions of a Lazy Super Affiliate is not free in itself (and neither is it for the lazy!) but the sales page itself gives a six part explanation of Chris’s broad strategy for internet marketing which is a highly useful read for the beginner, and will possibly dispel some myths for the more experienced too. You don’t even have to give your e-mail address to read this.
- Mark Ling of affilorama.com – The Top 6 Super Affiliate Millionaire Secrets may be quite a brash title, but it makes a very entertaining and informative read, covering topics from finding profitable niches, to keyword research to e-mail marketing. You should be able to find this PDF report via the search facility on Mark’s site – affilorama.com. Also, be sure to check out the rest of Mark’s site as it has a stack of other lessons and resources for affiliates.
- Rich Bonner’s – How to Create Killer Landing Pages – Richard is not actually an article marketer as such, he uses PPC methods primarily, but both his blog and this free report contain masses of useful information. Creating landing pages might not be at the top of your list of things to learn at the outset of your on-line marketing career, but it is certainly a skill you will need to develop at some stage.
Those are just four of the free reports and guides that I have found useful in the past, and there are no doubt dozens more out there (please post a comment with your own favourites). In fact there can almost be too much information available for the beginner which can lead to overload and the risk that you never see anything through to completion. My advice is to find a single method from a source you feel you can trust, and systematically work through it. Don’t try to run before you can walk, don’t skip the bits you don’t like (they will inevitably be the difficult things that make the whole system actually work!).
Part 6 was the last of my – Free Affiliate Tools – series, and whilst they are all firmly aimed at those making their first steps in affiliate marketing, I hope you have found something useful in there whatever your level of experience. As you can see from some of the comments, these tools are widely used even by those with plenty of affiliate marketing miles under their belts!
