Affiliate Progress

I was reading a post on Moon Hussain’s blog Experiments in Passive Income recently which set me off thinking about how we manage and control our online workloads. Moon raises the point that had she known the amount of work involved and the difficulties to be overcome before she started her blog, she might possibly never have even started it in the first place.

I’m sure that’s a feeling that a lot of us have had, whether in relation to a blog or to one of our other affiliate marketing projects. So what is the key to managing that workload so that we can keep progressing without things getting on top of us?

What was it that attracted you to affiliate marketing, or for that matter any other form of online career interest you might be persuing? Why are you here reading this? – and of course why have I taken the time and trouble to actually write it? Well for me, the driving force is that one day soon (and hopefully quite soon!), the picture above will be the view I have from my office.

Affiliate Progress is hitting the snooze button for a week! I’m heading over to Spain for a well earned week of sun, relaxation, bird watching, beer and tapas! No TV, no internet, just peace and quiet and beautiful mountain scenery.

Affiliate marketing is no different to most other modern day careers with respect to the number of acronyms and mysterious terms that are bandied about. Sometimes people will use these to bamboozle you or make themselves sound clever, but mostly it is just a shorthand to allow subjects to be discussed easily. I have been kind of dreading looking back at my affiliate goals for quarter one of 2010. I laid out my goals in this post and although some are on target, I have added others that weren’t included, and had a change of direction regarding some others. But hey, that is part of what goals are set for. At least I can clearly see that change of direction by looking back at those previously stated goals. (more…)
