Blog Commenting Tactics

24 Aug

Blog Commenting TacticsA few months back I wrote a post posing the question – Are Blog Comments Important? – it was mainly about the SEO benefits of leaving comments, but thankfully, most commenters also agreed that blog comments are indeed the life-blood of any good blog.

It is also true that during the difficult initial stages of a blog, when you are struggling to build up your traffic, blog commenting provides a useful stream of traffic whilst you build up your content and work to get more search engine based traffic.

But what are the tips and tricks that can help you maximise your investment in time, and get the largest amount of return traffic to your own blog from the comments you leave? Read on to find out! (more…)

Amazon – Taking the Low Ticket or High Ticket Route?

9 Aug

It is widely accepted that Amazon know what they are doing when it comes to turning traffic that you refer to them into sales. It is also the advice given by many highly respected and experienced Amazon affiliates, that you should concentrate your efforts on high ticket items with a selling price of $100 or more.

Whilst this is generally very sound advice, and should certainly form the foundation of your Amazon affiliate strategy, are there any reasons for targeting low ticket items? I definitely think there are. Read on to find out why. (more…)

Have You Ever Watched a Blog Go Out?

28 Jul

Defunct blogHave you ever followed a blog, loved the content, connected with the writer, kept coming back to read more, only to find one day that’s it – KAPPUT – FINITO – NO MORE ?

I’ve experienced it a couple of times now, and I have to say I find it a little sad but also more than a little intriguing. There are myriads of reasons for a blog to finish but we are often left hanging in suspense wondering what on earth happened. (more…)

Getting Started With Twitter

23 Jul

Getting Started With TwitterI have to admit that I have been very slow on the uptake with all forms of social networking, and particularly with Twitter, I’ve really been at a loss as to the point of it and how it can benefit me.

However, since giving Twitter an initial try out, the penny is now starting to drop and I can see its potential for at least some of my online projects.

So in keeping with my main purpose for this blog, I want to do a series of posts to outline my goals and progress with Twitter right from day one. (more…)

Affiliate Progress – Come on Spain!

8 Jul

Image Courtesy of Gilad.romApologies to any of my readers who hail from The Netherlands, but since we are heading over to Spain early on Saturday morning we are in for one big party on Sunday when Spain take on Holland in the world cup final. So come on Spain! It would be rude not to support them since we will be drinking their beer!

Also, if Spain don’t do it, Pulpo Paul (the psychic octopus) could soon be making a re-appearance in a tapas bowl! Which would be a shame for such a talented creature.

Anyway, I will be totally offline for a week and am really looking forward to a good rest (apart from all the painting work I have waiting for me over there!). When I return I hope to start blogging about my new experiments in the wonderful world of Twitter. As with my other affiliate activities I hope to chart this right from the outset for other beginners to follow, and also to draw out helpful suggestions and tactics via comments.

All the best, see you in a week or so!
