A few months back I wrote a post posing the question – Are Blog Comments Important? – it was mainly about the SEO benefits of leaving comments, but thankfully, most commenters also agreed that blog comments are indeed the life-blood of any good blog.

It is also true that during the difficult initial stages of a blog, when you are struggling to build up your traffic, blog commenting provides a useful stream of traffic whilst you build up your content and work to get more search engine based traffic.

It is widely accepted that Amazon know what they are doing when it comes to turning traffic that you refer to them into sales. It is also the advice given by many highly respected and experienced Amazon affiliates, that you should concentrate your efforts on high ticket items with a selling price of $100 or more.

Whilst this is generally very sound advice, and should certainly form the foundation of your Amazon affiliate strategy, are there any reasons for targeting low ticket items? I definitely think there are. Read on to find out why. (more…)

I have to admit that I have been very slow on the uptake with all forms of social networking, and particularly with Twitter, I’ve really been at a loss as to the point of it and how it can benefit me.

However, since giving Twitter an initial try out, the penny is now starting to drop and I can see its potential for at least some of my online projects.

I’m in curious mode today, and was wondering what it is that motivates you, my esteemed reader,  in setting up a passive income on-line?

If you are like me and are currently trying to develop your own passive income portfolio, then you will know just how much hard work is involved and how long it takes to see signs of success. In one of my previous posts – Why do You Want to be an Affiliate Marketer? – I said that unless you had real motivation that you will probably have little success on-line. There are obviously many valid reasons for wanting to earn your living on-line, and almost as many ways of achieving this, but in aiming to earn money using more passive methods (ie that continue earning with little maintenance once set up) you are aiming for a rather special goal. You are also writing off many other ways of earning on-line. So why would you do this?

I want to explore three of the possible reasons below, and then ask for your own specific motivations.

It has been a hugely busy week for my offline work, and I can see it remaining like that for some time to come. So I was glad that I managed to get my new blog project that I discussed in my last post started over the previous weekend.
