Affiliate Progress

I’ve been a bit silent on Affiliate Progress recently, concentrating my efforts on a new blog which has taken off rather more quickly than I expected; but since I’m off for a fortnight’s holiday in a day or two I wanted to get my quarter three 2010 progress report posted.

It has certainly been an interesting three months, but things have progressed in a rather different pattern to how I expected.

So here is a brief run down of my achievements for this quarter, achievements against my 2010 targets, and new goals for Q4 and beyond. (more…)

I’m actually quite pleased with my affiliate marketing progress this last quarter. I am learning steadily, and forming a more closely focused strategy. Actual income is still very low, but that is also as expected because of the number of projects I’m restricting myself to and the need to develop those projects further.

Only one major fly in the ointment, which is Google’s refusal to expose one of my lovely new sites to the gaze of the general public. With so few projects for me to experiment with, this is getting a little annoying after four and a half months, but there is not too much to be done about it I guess.

I was reading a post on Moon Hussain’s blog Experiments in Passive Income recently which set me off thinking about how we manage and control our online workloads. Moon raises the point that had she known the amount of work involved and the difficulties to be overcome before she started her blog, she might possibly never have even started it in the first place.

I’m sure that’s a feeling that a lot of us have had, whether in relation to a blog or to one of our other affiliate marketing projects. So what is the key to managing that workload so that we can keep progressing without things getting on top of us?

Affiliate Progress is hitting the snooze button for a week! I’m heading over to Spain for a well earned week of sun, relaxation, bird watching, beer and tapas! No TV, no internet, just peace and quiet and beautiful mountain scenery.

I have been kind of dreading looking back at my affiliate goals for quarter one of 2010. I laid out my goals in this post and although some are on target, I have added others that weren’t included, and had a change of direction regarding some others. But hey, that is part of what goals are set for. At least I can clearly see that change of direction by looking back at those previously stated goals. (more…)
